Woofun AI reports that Amazon has suspended the distribution of 'Artificial,' a biographical film centered on OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and is actively pursuing an alternative distributor. Directed by Luca Guadagnino, the production features Andrew Garfield as Altman and Yura Borisov as co-founder Ilya Sutskever, drawing narrative parallels to 'The Social Network.'
Mike Hopkins, head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, halted the release after reviewing a screening that portrayed Altman as manipulative, including a quote from Geoffrey Hinton describing him as 'one of the most manipulative people on Earth.' This move follows Amazon's $50 billion investment in OpenAI and reflects heightened political sensitivity regarding Altman's ties to the Trump administration and Jeff Bezos's strategic interests. Creative Artists Agency (CAA) is currently managing the search for a new partner.
