Woofun AI reports that OpenAI has integrated Kalshi prediction market odds for FIFA World Cup matches directly into ChatGPT search results, a move reported by The New York Times. Although Sam Altman’s company has not publicly announced the integration, the feature now displays graphical representations of implied win probabilities for teams . Kalshi declined to comment to Cointelegraph, and OpenAI did not immediately respond to requests for clarification regarding this strategic expansion.
Structurally, the integration serves an informational purpose rather than facilitating direct betting within the interface. Kalshi, founded as a regulated prediction market platform, allows users to trade contracts tied to real-world events including economic indicators, politics, and sports. Data compiled by Woofun AI shows Kalshi recorded more than $33 billion in monthly notional volume in June 2026, placing it approximately $22 billion ahead of rival Polymarket according to Dune Analytics. This volume underscores Kalshi’s position as one of the largest venues in the sector, providing a robust data source for OpenAI’s consumer-facing applications.
Notably, this development aligns with a broader industry trend where major media and technology entities adopt market-based forecasts. Kalshi previously entered partnerships with CNN and CNBC in December 2025 to integrate its data into their coverage. Similarly, rival Polymarket partnered with Dow Jones in January 2026 to bring its prediction market data to products including The Wall Street Journal. Google also integrated prediction market data from both Kalshi and Polymarket into Google Finance and Search products in November 2025, signaling a sector-wide shift toward probabilistic information delivery.
This marks the first known partnership between OpenAI and a prediction market platform, highlighting the growing interest among technology companies in incorporating market-based forecasts into consumer products. As traditional forecasting methods face scrutiny, the reliance on aggregated market sentiment offers a distinct advantage in accuracy and immediacy. The integration suggests that future iterations of AI assistants may increasingly rely on decentralized data sources to provide dynamic, real-time insights to users.
