Woofun AI reports that Injective Institutional Services has activated its US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) transfer agent registration, a critical development for the Injective blockchain ecosystem. This regulatory milestone establishes a compliant framework for securities recordkeeping, directly enhancing the platform's utility for institutional participants. The approval marks a significant step in bridging traditional financial compliance with decentralized infrastructure.
The operational scope, confirmed in Wednesday's announcement, permits the affiliate to maintain securities ownership records and process ownership changes. These functions are foundational to traditional securities markets and are now being adapted to support tokenized real-world assets (RWAs).
Structurally, this capability will be integrated with Injective Mint, the dedicated platform for issuing and managing tokenized assets, ensuring seamless administrative handling of digital securities.
Per Woofun AI, this registration follows a strategic expansion of tokenization efforts in recent months, which included markets offering exposure to digital asset treasury companies, equities, and shares in pre-IPO companies. By securing this license, Injective addresses a key infrastructure gap for these emerging asset classes. The move allows for rigorous tracking of ownership transitions, a necessity for complex financial instruments moving onchain.
The application to register was filed with the SEC in July. Transfer agents constitute essential regulated infrastructure underpinning US securities markets, maintaining records of who owns securities and processing ownership changes. This function becomes particularly relevant when securities are issued or transferred onchain, signaling a maturation of institutional-grade blockchain services.
