Woofun AI reports that Anthropic has entered the UK Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) regulatory framework by joining the second cohort of the Supercharged Sandbox. This integration allows participating entities to leverage Claude AI models within a controlled testing environment, marking a significant expansion of the regulator’s infrastructure for artificial intelligence experimentation.
The technical scope of this initiative grants access to specific tools including Claude Code and Claude Cowork. These resources are deployed across 21 organizations, such as Scottish Widows, Money Advice Trust, and TrueLayer. Participants utilize these models to develop applications focused on agent-led payments, fraud detection, compliance automation, and AI governance.
Woofun AI data shows that the FCA received 199 applications on Wednesday, representing a 51% increase from the first round. This surge in demand underscores the reliance on partnerships with NVIDIA and NayaOne, which supply the necessary computing infrastructure and development tools for the program.
Structurally, the regulator distinguishes between discovery and deployment phases through new educational and testing initiatives. A 10-week Agentic Academy, developed with the Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship, aids firms in deploying AI agents in financial services. While the Supercharged Sandbox targets early-stage experimentation, the separate AI Live Testing program supports firms ready to operate in live markets.
