Woofun AI reports that U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds secured a second consecutive day of positive capital flows on July 28, according to data from Farside Investors. The data reveals a stabilization in trading patterns after a period of erratic performance, highlighting the continued relevance of these financial instruments.
The aggregate net inflow for the session totaled $9.4 million, driven almost exclusively by BlackRock’s dual offerings. Specifically, the iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) attracted $3.5 million, while the iShares Ethereum Trust with staking exposure (ETHB) captured a larger share at $5.9 million. These figures confirm that the second consecutive trading day of gains was concentrated within a single issuer’s portfolio.
Structurally, BlackRock maintained its dominant position in the nascent spot Ethereum ETF market, accounting for nearly the entire $9.4 million total. Farside Investors reported no significant outflows from other issuers, indicating broad-based stability across the product category. This absence of capital flight suggests that while growth is modest, the existing investor base remains intact.
Historically, the sector has faced mixed results since its launch in mid-2024. Although initial trading volumes were strong, net flows have proven volatile, mirroring broader uncertainty and shifting regulatory signals. The current two-day streak contrasts with previous periods of instability, offering a glimpse of potential normalization in an otherwise unpredictable environment.
A more critical variable is the growing institutional interest in Ethereum as a distinct asset class, particularly due to integrated staking features. Products like ETHB provide a yield component absent in traditional crypto holdings, offering a regulated pathway for mainstream adoption and liquidity. This structural advantage may be driving the cautious but persistent demand observed in recent sessions.
However, current inflow levels remain far below the peaks seen during the first weeks of trading. While the data serves as a positive but early signal, it does not yet constitute a definitive trend reversal. Continued monitoring of daily flow data is essential to determine if this marks a sustained recovery or merely a temporary pause in broader market caution.
