Woofun AI reports that Hyperscale Data, formerly Ault Alliance, executed a strategic pivot by liquidating Bitcoin assets to finance a new AI data center in Michigan, simultaneously securing a Bitcoin-backed credit facility. This dual-financing approach underscores the company's transition from pure mining to infrastructure development.
The liquidity event involved the sale of 100 Bitcoin, or 100 BTC, on Thursday, with proceeds directed toward construction and the procurement of critical infrastructure and long-lead equipment. The associated credit facility carries variable interest rates ranging from 4.5% to 5.0%. Per Woofun AI, the company maintains a treasury of 1,006 BTC, ranking it as the 44th-largest public corporate Bitcoin holder according to BitcoinTreasuries.NET.
Structurally, the campus development supports a master services agreement with an unnamed AI infrastructure provider, initially covering 20 megawatts of compute capacity. This 10-year agreement includes two optional five-year extensions, projecting over $1.2 billion in revenue if fully exercised. The provider may also expand capacity by 32 MW within the first two years, potentially pushing the total contract value beyond $3 billion.
Shares traded on NYSE American under the ticker GPUS rose more than 5% in late morning trading on Thursday. The company, which rebranded in 2024, continues to operate its Bitcoin mining business alongside this new venture. This marks a significant capitalization strategy for public miners diversifying into AI infrastructure.
