Woofun AI reports that Standard Chartered's global head of digital asset research, Geoff Kendrick, has signaled a potential upward revision to its Bitcoin outlook, suggesting the current rally dynamics may outpace initial projections.
The acceleration toward the all-time high of $126,000 is anticipated to gain momentum after Oct. 6, driven primarily by short liquidations and recovering inflows into spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds.
Woofun AI data shows that low open interest creates structural room for additional investor entry as prices climb. Consequently, Kendrick noted that "For the first time this year there is now a risk my end year forecast (of USD100k) is too low," highlighting a shift from earlier caution.
This stance contrasts with a Feb. 12 report where Kendrick reduced the year-end Bitcoin target from $150,000 to $100,000 and the Ether target from $7,500 to $4,000. At that time, he projected Bitcoin would dip to approximately $50,000 and Ether to $1,400 before recovering later in the year, a scenario that has since been upended by the current market strength.
Corroborating the bullish sentiment, Swan Bitcoin CEO Cory Klippsten identifies October as a potential bottoming period, while 10x Research founder Markus Thielen argues that an August close above $63,000 could confirm the end of the bear market. This convergence of expert opinion suggests the market structure is stabilizing beyond previous expectations.
