Woofun AI reports that Core Lightning (CLN), a leading implementation of the Bitcoin Lightning Network, has issued an urgent directive for all node operators to disconnect immediately following the publication of a CVE vulnerability report, as first noted by Crypto Briefing.
The scope of this critical security flaw encompasses all nodes operating on CLN version 26.04 or earlier, versions for which official support has already been terminated. Consequently, these legacy installations lack the necessary maintenance framework to address emerging threats, leaving them exposed to potential exploitation without immediate intervention.
A standard two-week embargo is currently in effect regarding the CVE vulnerability report, a protocol designed to provide operators with a brief window to apply fixes before technical details are fully disclosed.
However, a patched version has not yet been released, leaving the ecosystem in a precarious state where the specific timeline for remediation remains undefined by the Core Lightning team.
